ROCKFORD FOSGATE P3D2-12

The Rockford Fosgate Punch P3D2-12 is a 12-inch dual 2-ohm voice-coil (DVC) car subwoofer with 600 Watts RMS power handling and 1200 Watts max power handling. It is a standard-depth Punch Series subwoofer designed around dual 2-ohm voice coils, rather than a single-voice-coil configuration.

For enclosure planning, Rockford Fosgate specifies a sealed box volume of 1.02 cu. ft. (28.8 Liters) or a vented box volume of 1.79 cu. ft. (50.6 Liters). Confirm mounting clearance for its 6.66 in. (169.3 mm) mounting depth and 11.25 in. (285 mm) cutout diameter, and account for 0.106 cu. ft. (3.0 Liters) of woofer displacement.

The P3D2-12 uses an anodized aluminum cone and dustcap, a high-temp voice coil with a spun-laced Nomex reinforcement collar, and dual linear spiders with embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads. Its hybrid StampCast basket combines stamped and cast construction, while integrated spider venting, an extended pole piece, and a bumped vented backplate are provided for motor ventilation. A protective PVC-textured magnet cover and diamond-cut cast aluminum trim ring are included; the trim ring accommodates an optional grille insert.
